Exciting New Product Offering From TouchNet

TouchNet is Harvard’s new standard for easy, cost-effective credit card payment solutions. It is a higher-ed specific ecommerce platform tailored to meet the unique needs of our schools, units, and departments. In addition to TouchNet uStores, Harvard is now offering uPay.

NEW! TouchNet uPay

TouchNet uPay is a new payment gateway standard to use with existing front-end systems that process events, non-traditional educational offerings, and other products and services. TouchNet uPay can be used as a replacement to CyberSource and offers several benefits.

TouchNet uStores

uStores enables departments to easily create, manage, and operate online storefronts that are connected to a secure payment gateway. uStores makes it possible for every campus merchant to quickly and easily offer products and services around the clock with minimal training. If you are currently using Certain Software to schedule your event, consider using uStores. Learn more about uStores

Schools/Units can easily integrate with uPay through existing TouchNet Ready Partners. Starting in FY20, uPay will also be available via a custom API (application program interface). Learn more about uPay

chargeback

Changes to Disputes Processing

As previously communicated, effective in April 2018, Visa has issued a global mandate to redefine how merchants and processors handle chargebacks. Please note the following updates:

  • The amount of time you have to respond to disputes for Visa, MasterCard and Discover transactions is 15 calendar days. As a best practice, you should respond to all chargebacks by the due date provided on the chargeback notification from Bank of America Merchant Services.
  • You are required to reply to ALL chargebacks regardless of whether you are refuting or accepting liability.

To ensure you meet the 15 calendar day requirement, we strongly encourage you to manage your dispute activities through Dispute Manager. Dispute Manager is a Bank of America Merchant Services tool that provides your business with automation of your dispute processes and enables timely information exchange to meet new dispute requirements.

If you are not already using Dispute Manager, you may enroll by sending an email to your Cash Management Accountant at cash_management@harvard.edu. You will receive an email with instructions on how to log in to the Business Track portal. If you already have access to the Business Track portal, you can select “User Preferences” from the Business Track toolbar and request access to Dispute Manager. If you need assistance in getting set up for Dispute Manager, send an email to your Cash Management Account at cash_management@harvard.edu .
